A few months ago, a virus (that causes anyone who tells a lie to explode into a massive firework) almost wiped out most of the human population.
Today, Danny (31) is a scavenger, living with his girlfriend, Jane. As one of the last medical researchers left in the world, Jane is tasked with developing a cure for the virus. An opportunity arises for Jane to be transferred to the United States, which would give her access to a better life, but she doesn’t want to leave Danny behind because she loves him. Danny feels that he is holding Jane back from doing what she wants to do. Danny has no other choice, but to lie to Jane in order for her to move on.
